Human immune systems are shaped by environmental exposures and environmental influences during the first months of life are particularly influential with long-term consequences for health and disease risks. Mechanisms of establishing healthy immune-microbe interactions in humans remain elusive. Here I will share the most recent results from our laboratory on this topic.
