We have been investigating mechanisms of innate immune responses to yeasts by exploring the network of receptors, enzymes and signaling molecules that enrich in phagosomes upon contact with and phagocytosis of yeast. We have developed a proximity labelling based approach to identify and quantify proteins that are enriched in phagosomes containing yeast or various bacteria and observed that while phagosomes containing different microbes share many features, each is also unique.
